Easter Egg Hunt

We did an Easter egg hunt with my Right at Home Bible study this past Friday, March 26th at a local park. I thought the discrepancy between the two kids' styles was pretty cute. Catherine was very good at collecting the plastic eggs: stooping to get them and then carefully placing each one in her little basket. And she needed no encouragement to begin. Jacob, on the other hand I had to coax to participate, and once he finally did join in would open the egg, toss it aside into the grass, extract its contents and then immediately find me to unwrap the candy or sometimes just stuck the wrapper and all in his mouth whereby I would have to fish it out! : )

Visit to Cousin Lily's

We had a super fun Spring Break visit in Lewisville (north of Dallas) with Uncle Shane, Aunt Jenny, and Cousin Lily. We stayed Wednesday March 17th thru Saturday March 20th and enjoyed ourselves very much. The kids were darling playing together, especially Jacob and Lily and I am so glad the cousins will grow up knowing each other. Jenny was a wonderful hostess and made tasty meals for all of us and let us continuously strew toys about her home. I can't wait to see them again!

Sick Catherine : (

Just an update from when I took Catherine to her "15-month Well-Child" check-up Monday, March 22nd (a little belatedly since she is now 16-months): after being nearly continuously sick since November, our pediatrician thinks she might have either bad allergies or possibly asthma. : ( The asthma is a possibility especially since she struggles with eczema and also since there is a family history (Greg had childhood asthma.) So, she put her on two different medicines, plus a third med to use in a nebulizer to give her breathing treatments. She hates those (although has gotten more used to it) and the first time we had to do a breathing treatment that day in the doctor's office it was terrible for both of us - it made me want to cry to have to pin her to get the mask on her face and make it stay on. : ( I have since discontinued its use, but will probably have to start it up again since she seems to have her cough back in her chest and lungs. She hasn't gained any weight either and has actually lost a few ounces too despite being a pretty good eater. The doctor thinks she is using all of her calories to get better! : ( Poor little bug. She is such a good sport about it all though.

Strollering...

The kids just being cute... Jacob seemed to be an over-sized baby for this stroller, however, Catherine proved up to the task! : )

Challenger Park

Today we went to Challenger Park! The weather was beautiful (Hallelujah) and we stayed nearly three hours. We played with sand toys in the pebbles, climbed on the play structures, did lots of swinging (a new favorite of Jacob's), and even had a picnic lunch. And all the moms got to visit too. We ended the morning with a stop at YogurtBear where Jacob had vanilla with colored sprinkles and Catherine took my spoon and kept hers too! : )
